Your Timeline Is Your Timeline
Your timeline is your timeline. I thought that by the time I was 35, I would have my life together. I imagined my business would be thriving. Instead, I feel even more lost now than I did at 25. I expected to be financially free, but student loans are a trap, learning to run a business is hard work, and the cost of basic living is insane. I assumed I would have kids by now, but it took longer than expected for that "mom feeling" to happen. I had many expectations that are far from my current reality.
The truth is, no one has it all figured out—and you never will. If you think you do, congratulations, you're God. For those struggling to figure it out and feeling pressured by society's timeline of how your life should look by a certain age, let me set you free: it's okay not to know. It's okay if you're still figuring it out. It's okay to try a few things and make some mistakes along the way to see what works. It's okay if you're over 30 and not married. It's okay if you're married and don't have kids. All of these situations are okay. Never let anyone make you feel bad about your current season in life. Your timeline is YOUR timeline.
We may not always understand life's curveballs. I'm finally learning to accept this. We must trust the Lord with all our heart and not lean on our own understanding.
